Intermediate rooms (2- 3 years)
There are two intermediate rooms each able to accommodate 24 children
Ratio is 1 staff: 4 children
These rooms are designed to encourage children to grow and develop, and staff enhances learning through play
and exploration. Activities in these rooms are more planned and structured whilst remaining play based and fun. Staff promote
independence in all areas and respect for others and their environment. These rooms start to learn their colours, numbers,
shapes and to practise writing skills one to one with staff when they are 2 years 6 months to prepare them for pre-school.
The children start to work alongside each other and develop understanding of what is right and wrong, and why in preparation
for the pre-school unit.
At sleep time one intermediate room is used for the sleeping children and the other is for the children that are at the
stage of not requiring an afternoon sleep. Both rooms are still constantly supervised.
